1) Chiến thuật A.R.E.A là gì?
Trong bài thi IELTS Speaking Part 1 và Part 3, sau khi nhận được câu hỏi của giám khảo thí sinh phải lập tức cho ra một câu trả lời vừa đáp ứng được yêu cầu câu hỏi vừa phải mở rộng câu trrả lời của mình. Vấn đề là trong một thời gian ngắn như vậy, chúng ta khó mà đưa ra được nhiều ý tưởng trả lời.Đồng thời kể cả khi có ý tưởng rồi, nhiều bạn thí sinh còn lúng túng trong việc sắp xếp các ý tưởng sao cho hợp lí. Vì vậy, chiến thuật A.R.E.A được dùng như một hướng trả lời logic để từ đó thí sinh sẽ mau chóng phát sinh ý tưởng và trình bày một cách mạch lạc nhất để “ăn trọn điểm” về Fluency. Vậy còn chờ gì nữa, chúng ta cùng “tu luyện” cho thành thạo bộ “võ công” này nào !!
Về cơ bản, A.R.E.A là một câu trả lời có 4 phần như sau:
| A- Answer: | đưa ra câu trả lời trực tiếp cho câu hỏi của giám khảo |
| R- Reason: | giải thích cho câu trả lời |
| E-Example: | đưa ra ví dụ cho câu trả lời |
| A- Alternative: | đưa ra một ý kiến trái chiều, phần này thí sinh có thể linh hoạt thêm vào hoặc không tùy theo câu hỏi. |
2. Các mẫu câu thường dùng cho phần R.E.A
Các mẫu câu để đưa ra Reason:

3. Câu trả lời mẫu
Q1: Do you think your hometown is a nice place to live in?
A: Definitely yes, Ho Chi Minh city is the best place to live in Vietnam according to me.
R: This is because the weather here is so pleasant. By this, I mean we never have to concern about the extreme
weather as it is hardly too cold or too hot here. Another reason is that it provides its residents with a wide range
of job opportunities.
E: In fact, more and more people from other provinces move to live in Ho Chi Minh city, which shows how
liveable the city is.
A: However, the city does have some problems. The most serious one is the traffic congestion, which makes a
commuter like me really annoyed .
Q2: Do you prefer shopping at stores or shopping online?
A: Basically, I’d rather buy things online than go to the store.
R: This is because I find online shopping convenient and time-saving. You know, I am quite occupied with my
daily work, so I rarely have time to wander around the shopping malls to do my shopping. Online shopping
proves to be an optimal choice for me.
E: For example, when I need to buy a new piece of clothes, I can visit the shop’s website, pick out the one I like,
and make the payment online.
A: However, there are some aspects of online shopping which I don’t like. Sometimes, the item I receive is not
exactly the same one I chose on the website. Another drawback when I buy clothes and shoes is that I cannot try
them on before deciding to buy them or not.

1. However, preparing a meal normally requires me a lot of time and effort. As a busy person, I hardly find time

3. Part of the reasons is that they are safer and healthier than ready meals. Besides, I can decide what to eat for
each day.
4. For example, I can eat rice on one day and change to noodles on another day.

1. I have a great passion for history and it is the subject I enjoy spending time on the most.
2. For instance, I can understand how the World War II broke out or what was the cause of the French
Revolution.
3. What makes me deep into history is that it helps me explain how a historical event happened.
4. However, learning history is sometimes a little bit challenging to me when I have to remember a number of
events and figures.

1. The only thing I don’t feel good about Vincom shopping mall is that it is extremely crowded on the weekends.
2. In my spare time, I prefer to go window-shopping at Vincom shopping mall, which is not very distant from
my house.
3. What makes me like about it is its variety of brands and services. I can do tons of things there including
shopping, watching films, and dining out with friends.
4. For example, I had a great time with my buddies there last weekend when we had a big-hearted dinner at a
pizza restaurant and then went to the cinema on the third floor to enjoy the newly released movie “Avengers:
End Game”.
