1. Từ nối “because”

Trong tiếng Anh, “because” được sử dụng với ý nghĩa là “vì, bởi vì”, là một từ nối để nối 2 vế (2 mệnh đề) có quan hệ nguyên nhân – kết quả.

Vế trước because là một mệnh đề chỉ kết quả, vế sau because là một mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhân.

Ví dụ:

I was tired because I didn’t sleep last night.

2. Từ nối “so”

Trái ngược với “because”, “so” được sử dụng với ý nghĩa là “cho nên”, cũng là một từ nối để nối 2 vế (2 mệnh đề) có quan hệ nguyên nhân – kết quả.

Tuy nhiên, vế trước so là một mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhân, vế sau so là một mệnh đề chỉ kết quả.

Ví dụ:

I didn’t sleep last night, so I was tired.

    Nguyên nhân                  Kết quả

Lưu ý: Khi nối 2 mệnh đề với “so”, khi viết, ta cần đặt dấu phẩy trước từ “so”.
